Why Wild Wisdom?

Wild Wisdom Psychotherapy was created out of the joy I experienced in seeing my clients come home to themselves, thus being more free to connect with others and the environment around them. My journey of reconnecting with my wild self began with reading Clarissa Pinkola Estes’ book Women Who Run With the Wolves all about the wild woman archetype that appears in many folk tales around the world. These ancient stories of wildness are like medicine for us in a time when we are increasingly detached from our bodies and hyper-focused on rational thought. We can also see this wisdom in the cycles of nature, inviting us to remember that we are a part of the earth and that healing is possible.

“It is not by accident that the pristine wilderness of our planet disappears as the understanding of our own inner wild nature fades.”

— Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Women Who Run With The Wolves
